Netleaf Oak is fairly uncommon, occurring only on wooded slopes and canyons at relatively high elevations on Mount Emory in the Chisos Mountains of Big Bend National Park and on Mount Livermore in the Davis Mountains of west Texas. Netleaf oak is a striking large shrub or tree of less than 30 feet, with large, rounded, thick and hard evergreen or persistent leaves and acorns that are on stems up to 2 inches long.
