Nogalito is a many-trunked small tree that grows scattered in rocky streambeds and ravines, valleys and the first terraces of dry riverbeds in central, south and west Texas. Its leaflets are small, 1/2 to 1 inch wide, as are the nuts, which are only one-half to three-quarters of an inch in diameter.
